NORMAN — The Center for Children and Families Inc., is hosting a community celebration in honor of Clinical Director Fran Roberson, who is leaving the agency after 28 years of service.

The celebration, which is open to the public, will be from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Friday at St. Stephen’s United Methodist Church, 1801 W. Brooks St.

Roberson oversaw the programs and clinical services of CCFI and offered consultative services to social work professionals in the community.

Roberson is recognized for her outstanding efforts in social work, especially in the area of children’s services. Notable awards include the Wayne Martin Memorial Award, presented by the Mary Abbott House (2006), a nomination for a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Business and Social Services Task Force (2009), and The Outstanding Service to Children Award, presented by the Norman Children’s Rights Commission (2011).

“We are excited to bring the entire CCFI family and the rest of the community together to express our tremendous gratitude to Fran for her many years of service to CCFI and for her mentorship of so many professionals who have gone on to impact children’s lives across this state and nation,” Executive Director Katie Fitzgerald said.

CCFI is a nonprofit providing programs and services to heal children, empower youth and strengthen families in Cleveland County and surrounding areas since 1969.
