I was in attendance at the Nebraska-Oklahoma football game in Lincoln, Neb., on a recent Saturday evening. It was a beautiful fall night, and the long-standing rivalry between the two schools was honored and recognized by various events throughout the evening.
Find a better plan
Despite Highway 77 being designated along East 12th Street, Porter Avenue continues to be a major conduit to downtown Norman. Traffic from the south and east, makes the intersection of Alameda and Porter Avenue a busy bottleneck.
Veterans Day tribute worth saluting

On Veterans Day, there was an excellent ceremony at the Cleveland County Veterans Memorial honoring those Veterans who have paid the ultimate price for our country's freedom and those veterans that are still with us.
Voters should demand a break

Despite the myths, distortions and outright falsehoods on the part of opponents, this Congress is still likely to pass some sort of health care reform. Whether you are for it or against it, one myth in particular is pervasive and needs constant refutation.
A 'skinny cat' speaks out

I am not one the "fat cats feeding at the health insurance trough," but I feel constrained to answer Larry Steele's letter in last Sunday's Transcript ("More Power to Pelosi.") I am, figuratively speaking, a skinny cat feeding at the Social Security and Medicare troughs.
