Will’s lead-in about General Zhukov and then President Eisenhower was misleading.
Will quoted Zhukov as saying he ran his troops through minefields without presweeping. Will was attempting to illustrate his point that Cruz is jeopardizing Republicans by forging ahead with his plan to shut down the government.
I agree with Will but feel constrained to mention that Zhukov went on to say he balanced the casualties caused by going through the unswept minefield against the potential casualties caused by delaying the advance of his forces.
