Residents have freedoms

NORMAN — Editor, The Transcript:

It’s called “freedom of choice.”

First off, I would like to thank all of the “privately owned” businesses who choose “not” to discriminate against their patrons. There seems to be a growing number of “simple-minded” people (bless their hearts) who are begging and crying to the government to take away their “freedom of choice” because they can’t understand your postings.

The solution? Include the word “offend.” The posting “If nudity offends you, do not enter” has been around for decades and to my knowledge, the “simple-minded” people (bless their hearts) have not begged or cried to the government to protect them from these “privately owned” establishments.

I believe if you changed your postings to “If smoking offends you, do not enter,” then maybe, just maybe, these “simple-minded” people (bless their hearts) would realize that they do not have to patronize our “privately owned” businesses.

Yes, I am a smoker, but I’m a smoker who does not want to see our country’s motto changed to “Land of the Free, Home of the Brave, and the ‘simple-minded people’” (bless their hearts). Think about this ... if you’re capable.
