NORMAN — Editor, The Transcript:
It is difficult to understand the national media coverage of Clayton Lockett dying during his execution. That is the purpose of an execution. Lockett’s lawyer was quoted in the Transcript as saying, “It was difficult to watch.”
How difficult to watch do you think it was when Lockett shot a teenage girl with a sawed-off shotgun and then had two accomplices bury her while she was still alive? Her crime? She had arrived at a home Lockett and his “friends” were robbing.
Lockett was executed because he committed a heinous crime.
Too bad the problem with the execution drugs didn’t happen during the second execution — which was immediately postponed. We could have been rid of two murderers, otherwise.
