What happened to holidays?

The Norman Transcript

NORMAN — I remember Thanksgiving as a special day of family, food and football. Now it’s a day of shopping frenzy, fighting and first in the stores.

After watching all this madness on TV, did you see any necessities being bought? Electronic games, the latest phone gadgets and toys seem to be the most sought after. I kept waiting to see some folks having a tug of war over a washer-dryer.

I realize that the holiday season is most important to our merchants, but please do not ruin Christmas, too. There’s plenty of time before and after these special days to shop.
