Governor shouldn’t have returned health care funds

The Norman Transcript

NORMAN — Editor, The Transcript:

I read in (Saturday’s) Transcript that the federal government is giving Oklahoma $37 million for tornado relief.

If our governor is to remain consistent in her disdain for federal money, she must refuse this and send it back. It was meant to alleviate the pain and suffering of the victims in Moore and other areas.

But the $52 million she sent back to the federal government to aid those in our state who are without health care insurance is gone. How much good could that $52 million have done to alleviate the pain and suffering of our less fortunate Oklahomans? Politics, ideology, racism — all are the bane of our state government these days.

It is enough to make one sick — that is, if one could afford health care.
