Special thanks for your help

NORMAN — Editor, The Transcript:

On behalf of the board of directors and staff of the Firehouse Art Center, I would like to thank all the volunteers, artists and musicians whose assistance was fundamental in bringing the Midsummer Nights’ Fair to the Norman community.

Despite the warm Oklahoma temperatures Aug. 23 and 24, these dedicated individuals came together and provided attendees with two engaging evenings of arts and culture.

We’d like to thank the city of Norman, the police department and the Parks and Recreation Department that provided essential support. We especially want to thank and recognize The Norman Transcript for all the wonderful media coverage. This coverage was a tremendous help in getting the word out prior to and during the fair and was instrumental in increasing this year’s attendance.

We would also like to give a special thanks to the faculty members of the Firehouse who spent the evenings demonstrating their creativity, techniques and the variety of classes offered at the FAC.

From the great art, creativity stations, children’s art wall, demonstrations, music, and, of course, Samo Ducky, this was one of the best Midsummer Nights’ Fairs in years; again, a big “thank you” to all involved in the efforts to put on this event.

Douglas Shaw Elder

Executive director, Firehouse Art Center
