Pipeline could hurt land

The Norman Transcript

NORMAN — Editor, The Transcript:

While Jim Inhofe does not consider oil pipeline breaks an environmental threat, residents of the north Little Rock suburb of Mayflower think otherwise.

Last March, the Exxon-Mobil Pegasus line ruptured from heat corrosion and poured more than 200,000 gallons of heavy tar sands crude into the neighborhoods, causing evacuations.

Now consider the potential threat of the Keystone XL line, due to open soon, extending some 2,000 miles from Canada to the Gulf. Inhofe’s support for Keystone is not surprising but is one more example of his long, dismal record on environmental preservation.
