NORMAN — Boynton Williams promotion (photo in Camera -- Christian)

Boynton Williams and Associates Architects (BWA) recently announced the promotion of Christian Ballard to vice president, Norman. Christian initially joined BWA in 2000 and has been serving as a senior project architect. Christian now has oversight of the daily operations of the Norman office.

Christian Ballard, AIA, received a Bachelor of Arts from the University of California, Berkeley (1993); graduated with distinction from the University of Oklahoma (1998) with a Master of Architecture; is a licensed architect in the state of Oklahoma; and has designed award-winning Commercial, Institutional and Multi-family Buildings and Interiors.

Norman CPA wins award

A Norman certified public accountant received the Distinguished CPA Award from the Norman Chapter of the Oklahoma Society of Certified Public Accountants at the organization’s 95th annual Members Meeting on June 14 in Tulsa.

Janese Shepard, a CPA and Chartered Global Management accountant and principal/shareholder with Gray Blodgett & Company in Norman, accepted the 2013 honor.

An OSCPA member for 11 years, Shepard is a past president, a past vice president and past secretary/treasurer of the Norman Chapter and continues to be actively involved. She’s previously supported and presented at the OSCPA’s “Do It Herself: A Journey to Financial Freedom,” and is currently chairing the OSCPA’s Taxation Committee.

With more than 20 years of tax experience, Shepard also has served her community, volunteering for St. Jude and the Norman Chamber of Commerce, among others.

The OSCPA's Norman Chapter includes Cleveland, Garvin and McClain counties.

Martinelli joins Don Cies (photo Johnny_ Mug... in Camera)

Norman real estate broker Johnny Martinelli has joined Don Cies Real Estate Inc. as an associate broker in the midtown office, 424 W. Main St.

Martinelli specializes in residential and investment properties and has an extensive background in sales and marketing. A resident of Norman since 1995, he has been a Realtor since 2007 and a broker since 2009. He has degrees from the University of New Mexico and Oklahoma City Community College.

Martinelli was an assistant strength coach at UNM and currently serves as junior governor of Moose Lodge 1799 in Norman.
