Sixth annual Youth Soccer Camp starts this month

NORMAN — The sixth annual Youth Soccer Camp at the Whittier Recreation Center runs from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. May 29 through June 31 for ages 6-12. All camps are co-ed. The deadline to sign up is Thursday.

Instructing the camp this year is longtime assistant at Oklahoma City University, Billy Martin. Martin has been coaching soccer with the Oklahoma City Stars for more than 15 years, helping the Stars win more than 15 Conference Championships with the men’s and women’s programs.

The following are other sports camps that the Norman Parks and Recreation Department will host later in the summer:

· Baseball Camp: 9 a.m. to noon June 3-6; ages 7-12, $79

· Softball Camp: 9 a.m. to noon June 3-6; ages 7-12, $79

· Football Camp with University of Oklahoma football co-offensive coordinator Jay Norvell: 9 a.m. to noon June 10-13; ages 7-14, $79

· Basketball Camp with Johh McCullough, OU basketball legend, former NBA player and NBA scout: 9 a.m. to noon June 17-20; ages 8-14, $79

· Basketball Shooting Camp with McCullough: 1 to 4 p.m. June 19-20; ages 8-14, $55

· Volleyball Camp with Nikki Dieball, OCU head volleyball coach: 9 a.m. to noon June 24-27, ages 7-14, $79

· Speed and Agility Camp Session I with Norman Youth Performance: 10 a.m. to noon July 1-3, ages 7-14, $79

· Junior Jammer Basketball Camp: 9 a.m. to noon July 8-11, ages 5-8, $79

· Strength and Power Camp with Norman Youth Performance: 10 a.m. to noon July 15-17, ages 7-14, $79

· Cheer and Tumbling Camp with Shawn Yohn, NCA national championship coach: 1 to 4 p.m. July 24-26; showcase Friday at noon; ages 5-12, $79

· Speed and Agility Camp Session II with Norman Youth Performance: 10 a.m. to noon July 29-31, ages 7-14, $79
