NORMAN — The Center for Children and Families, a United Way of Norman partner agency, was recently nominated as a top-finalist for the Oklahoma NonProfit Excellence Awards, presented by the Oklahoma Center for Nonprofits.
Annually, the ONE Awards recognize 24 nonprofit organizations across the state for their dedication to the community, excellence in stewardship and management, service to constituents and achievements in their area of expertise.
CCFI has been nominated as one of three finalists for the category of self-sufficiency for its excellence in providing services geared toward children and families who have experienced or are at risk for experiencing child abuse or neglect, divorce and separation, childhood trauma, generational poverty and other adverse life situations. The ONE Awards Selection Commission determines the finalists.
CCFI will be awarded at least $5,000 in the Tulsa-based awards ceremony in April. If the agency wins its category, it will be awarded $7,500. If selected as the overall Award for Excellence winner, the prize will be $10,000.
The Center for Children and Families, formed in 1969, is a local, nonprofit organization specializing in healing children, empowering youth and strengthening families throughout Norman, Cleveland County and surrounding communities.
