NORMAN — On the heels of a facelift that renovated the lighting inside the Norman Public Library, the facility is getting another upgrade, this time to its carpets.
Work being done by the city of Norman will cause the library to be closed from Monday through Jan. 19, while the project focuses on the entryway and front desk area of the library, 225 N. Webster Ave.
Until the library reopens, people wanting to place books on hold will need to do so at either the Norman Public Library West facility at 300 Norman Center Court or the Norman East 24-Hour Library at 125 Vicksburg Ave.
Once reopened, portions of the building still will be unavailable, depending on where work is taking place at that time. Books and other items in the library collection in work areas will be relocated to the Lowry Room of the library while flooring is being installed in those areas of the building.
The library’s programming schedule has been cut back due to the project. Children’s programming will not take place except for Tuesday morning Story Times at Norman Public Library West. Classes in the library’s Computer Training Center will not take place in January.
