NORMAN — The Central Oklahoma Chapter of Germans from Russia will hold its second annual genealogy workshop on March 15 at the Oklahoma History Center, 800 Nazih Zuhdi Drive in Oklahoma City.
The program will begin at 10:15 a.m. in the classroom at the History Center and will include sessions on “Exploring the Newspapers” for vital information to aide genealogy research: Oral Histories and What is included in an Interview” and “How to use the History Center Resources; Census Records, Obituaries, etc.”, as well as a tour of the Research Center.
The sessions will be presented by Laura Martin, Research Library executive director and Debra Spindle. Sandra Merchant, an experienced researcher and scholar of the German Russian Heritage, will give an overview of online resources beyond Ancestry.com, the AHSGR, GRHS and LDS.
