O’Connells ready to go green for St. Patrick’s Day

NORMAN — Put on your best green outfit and head to O’Connell’s for the 46th Annual St. Patrick’s Day Party on Monday.

Owner Jeff Stewart said the all day celebration at the pub, 769 Asp Ave., is a fun opportunity to “get green in the face.”

“It’s a great way to have fun, see your friends,” he said. “People come from all around the state for the party, particularly those who attended OU and come back from year to year.”

The party kicks off at 7 a.m. with green eggs and ham and a performance by the Oklahoma Bag-Pipers. Green beer, souvenir mugs and souvenir T-shirts are available for purchase.

Later in the day, the event continues with face painting, karaoke and live music from bands including Midnight Revival, Full Circle Trio, North Meets South, Lip Service, My So Called Band, Laura Leighe and Jason Young Band. Cover charge beginning at 3 p.m. is $7.

Stewart said O’Connell’s is also teaming up with KATT Rock 100.5 FM this year to send two people on a trip to Ireland. To enter the contest visit oconnellsnorman.com.
