NORMAN — The public is invited to an open forum on Norman’s first Comprehensive Transportation Plan. A public open house will be at 6 p.m. Monday in the Council Chambers of the Municipal Complex, 201 W. Gray St.
This meeting is part of the public information phase for the Transportation Plan and will be led by Freese and Nichols of Dallas.
Part of the information gathering and assessment process involves a series of five meetings with four modal sub-committees, which include:
· Automobile Capacity and Quality of Service and Parking
· Pedestrian and Bicycle Mobility and Safety and Streetscape
· Transit Capacity and Quality of Service
· Freight Movement, Airports, Emergency Response
A total of three of the five sub-committee meetings have been completed addressing such issues as Goals and Objectives, Transportation Conditions and Transportation Needs.
The Comprehensive Transportation Plan will help guide the city’s growth and development across all modes of transportation for the next 20 years.
