NORMAN — Building on a successful statewide conference in 2012, several young professional groups from across the state have come together to launch Oklahoma Young Professional Leaders.

The goal of the organization is three-fold: leadership training and development, political awareness and activism, and professional networking.

OKYPL will partner with the lieutenant governor’s office again this year for the second annual “Lt. Governor’s Young Professionals Conference.”

This year’s conference will be 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Thursday at the Cox Convention Center.

“The feedback from last year’s conference was so amazing,” OKYPL chair Angie Johnson said. “The energy was great, the people were engaged and the desire to take the next step was there.”

OKYPL is for Oklahoma professionals, ages 21-40, who are interested and engaged in their communities and are interested in expanding their reach across the state.

Activities are being planned. Most OKYPL events will be included with a paid membership of $100 annually. Events include a Day at the State Capitol, Leadership Training, networking opportunities and others. Sponsorships are available.

To register, visit ok.gov/ltgovernor. Members can attend for $50. The regular price is $75. To join OKYPL, contact Jarrett Jobe at jjobe@uco.edu.
