Time to get business online

NORMAN — For the first time in Norman, Google is partnering with the Norman Chamber of Commerce and the University of Oklahoma Center for the Creation of Economic Wealth to bring our Chamber businesses an opportunity to “Get Your Business Online” with Google.

This free event will be Friday at the National Weather Center, 120 David L Boren Blvd., Norman, OK 73072, off State Highway 9 and Jenkins Avenue. Two sessions will be offered: 9 a.m. to noon or 1 to 4 p.m. Each three-hour event will show you how to do the following:

· Business listing on Google: Customers can find your business in Google.com search results, Google Maps, Google+ and on mobile devices. It’s the easiest way for your business to be found online, no matter where people are looking for you.

· Easy-to-build website: Choose a design and customize it with a description and photos of your business. You’ll also have the option to create a free mobile optimized site. Homestead provides a fast, easy, inexpensive way for any business to create a website without hiring a designer or learning to code.

· Customized domain name: This is your “address” on the web (for example, yourbusiness.com). We’ll register your chosen domain name and cover the hosting costs. Both are free for an entire year.

You can register for one of the events at the website below. Each event will fill up quickly, so register early.

For more information, email Lisa@normanchamber.com.

Kyla MMran is vice president of communications for the Norman Chamber of Commerce.
