NORMAN — For the first time last year, VisitNorman and the University of Oklahoma partnered to produce a dual-cover visitors guide.
Timed to coincide with the beginning of a new academic year at the university and Norman Public Schools, the annual guide will expand for 2014-15.
The 72-page guide will include 24 pages produced by the University of Oklahoma and the other 48 pages will be designed by VisitNorman.
This unique collaboration will mean that prospective students and their families will have a guide when they visit the campus that will explain the history and enhance a tour of the university.
These guides will be available for campus visitors but also will be distributed through other prospective student service programs that include satellite offices in Dallas/Fort Worth, Houston, Denver, Kansas City and San Diego.
The Norman portion of the guide presents information about the things a visitor can do in our city — from shopping, dining and listening to live music to entertainment options, including museums, athletic endeavors and family favorites.
We regularly distribute 100,000 guides annually to all corners of the U.S. at travel shows; inside welcome bags to conferences, meetings, conventions and sporting events in Norman; upon request from VisitNorman.com and TravelOK.com visitors and magazine readers; at fairs, festivals and other city events; and during orientation activities at OU.
