NORMAN — Thunderbird Casino blood drive

Thunderbird Casino and Oklahoma Blood Institute are partnering for a blood drive on Nov. 21 to help save the lives of those in area hospitals. The drive will occur 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at 15700 E. State Hwy 9, Norman.

During November, each blood donor receives the choice of an OSU or OU Bedlam blood donor T-shirt, health screenings and Donor Rewards Points, redeemable at OBI’s online store. Donors at Thunderbird Casino will also receive $5 Match Play. People 16 years and older are usually able to give.

If donors prefer, they can forgo the T-shirts to support the Global Blood Fund. Oklahoma Blood Institute will redirect funds for the shirts to this charity assisting blood centers in developing countries.

Appointments are not required but can be made by calling Oklahoma Blood Institute at 877-340-8777 or visiting obi.org.

Bedlam Blood Battle

This year’s Bedlam Blood Battle with Oklahoma Blood Institute is set for Nov. 12 through 16. The University of Oklahoma will compete with Oklahoma State University to see which can rally the most blood donors on campus.

Blood drives will take place from 10:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. each day in the OU ROTC Armory, North Armory Room. It is located just east of the football stadium.

If blood donors on the OU campus outnumber those on OSU’s, a trophy will be presented to student group leaders during halftime of the Bedlam football halftime game.

Each donor will receive an OU “I Bleed Crimson” T-shirt, free food, and a chance to win a pair of tickets to the Nov. 24 Bedlam football game. One lucky donor each day will win a football autographed by OU Head Football Coach Bob Stoops.

To schedule an appointment to give, visit obi.org or call 877-340-8777.
