NORMAN — Police officials are still investigating a mid-day robbery at a Norman Arvest Bank location on Friday.

According to Special Agent-in-Charge James E. Finch of the Oklahoma City Division of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, around noon on Friday, a male dressed as a female entered the bank and approached the teller counter.

The subject presented a note to the teller stating he had a gun and demanded money. No weapon was actually observed. The teller complied with the demand and the subject placed an undisclosed amount of money in the burgundy handbag he carried.

The subject exited the front door of the bank and was last seen on foot, heading east.

According to Norman Police Department Captain Tom Easley, NPD officers and K-9 units searched the area but were unable to locate the suspect.

The subject is described as a white male, mid 30s, five-foot-11 – six-foot-2, 175-195 pounds, thin build, wearing a gray vest, long sleeve gray and turquoise shirt, blue jeans, shoulder length blonde wig, red lipstick, bright orange or pink running shoes and sunglasses, carrying a burgundy handbag.

No one was injured in the robbery.

The robbery is being investigated by the Norman Police Department and the FBI.

The same bank location was the site of an attempted robbery last week when a woman went into the bank around 6 p.m. Sept. 20, went outside, then returned and handed a note to the teller demanding money. She left the bank on foot without any money.

Anyone with information is requested to contact the FBI at 290-7770. Callers may remain anonymous.
