NORMAN — Chad Vice will serve as the new Norman Public Schools Board of Education Office No. 4 seat. After the filing period deadline ended at 5 p.m. Wednesday, no one had filed to oppose Vice for Office No. 4. Vice is a former owner and now managing partner of operations at Havenbrook Funeral Home and has two children in Norman Public Schools. The incumbent Norman board member, Don Shandy, did not file for re-election.
Vice said he filed for the seat because he is passionate about education, and with two kids in NPS schools, he wanted to continue to be a part of a school system he believes upholds his values.
“I look forward to working with Dr. Siano and getting to build relationships with the other board members,” Vice said.
Two other candidates filed for local school board races Wednesday by the deadline. Candidates filing were Azure Buol for Noble School District No. I-40, Office No. 4.; and Staci L. Pruett for Moore School District No. I-2, Office No. 4.
Filing Tuesday was Ann Jones for the Office No. 4 office in Little Axe.
