Teens charged with robbery

NORMAN — Three teens were charged conjointly with robbery with a weapon Tuesday in Cleveland County District Court after allegedly robbing two juveniles with a gun in October.

Christopher Deandre Bradley, 16, Marcus Larod Jackson, 15, and Tyrek Ladrius Turner, 16, all of Norman, are being charged as youthful offenders, according to the initial felony filings.

The incident occurred around 7:30 p.m. Oct. 20 when two males, ages 15 and 16, were walking from their neighborhood on Brandywine Lane to the 7-Eleven near 24th Avenue Southeast and Lindsey Street when the three suspects jumped in front of them, the affidavit filed with charges said.

Bradley pointed a handgun at the victims and demanded they empty their pockets while Turner and Jackson patted the victims down, the affidavit said.

According to one of the victims, one of the suspects also brandished another handgun during the incident but never pointed it at them.

One of the victims handed his wallet over and one of the suspects took a dollar bill from it and threw it back at the victim.

The other victim gave up his iPhone after it was found on him while being patted down, the affidavit said.

After the incident occurred, the mother of one of the victims contacted The Transcript and said the suspects told her son and the other victim, “If you go to the police we’re going to come and get you.”

She said the thing that scared her most was that the incident happened while it was still light outside and they were close to home.

It also was the second time one of her children was robbed at gunpoint. Her oldest son was robbed within sight of their house about three years ago and police never found those suspects, she said.

When Norman police tried interviewing Jackson, he said his attorney instructed him not to speak to detectives about the incident, the affidavit said.
