5K, fun run to benefit community kids

NORMAN — The Norman Board of Realtors has set a March 9 date for its second annual LuDown Legacy 5K and 1 Mile Fun Run.

The race will begin and end March 9 at Embassy Suites in Norman. Registration on the day of the event begins at 7:30 a.m., but pre-registration is encouraged. The Fun Run begins at 8:30 a.m., and the 5K starts at 9 a.m.

Proceeds are used to help purchase back-to-school supplies and backpacks, Christmas gifts and gift cards to help families through the holidays and scholarships to graduating high school seniors who have overcome adversity.

com/89345. The pre-registration cost of the 5K is $25 and $35 on the day of the race. Everyone who pre-registers will receive a free T-shirt. The Cost of the Fun Run is $25.

All runners will be timed using D-Tags provided by DG Productions.

First-,second- and third-place medals will be awarded to winners in each age category.

The overall winners of both men’s and women’s divisions will receive a weekend entertainment package, including a two-night stay at Embassy Suites and limo service from Pure Limo.

All ages are welcome to participate in the 5K, but no pets, skateboards, rollerblades or bicycles are allowed on the course.
