NORMAN — The climate science community is aware of the role of clouds as a major source of uncertainty in future climate projections. Clouds can play a role in much shorter-term events that have long-term repercussions for the Earth’s climate.
At 7 p.m. April 4 at the Norman Public Library, Dr. Dave Turner of the National Severe Storms Laboratory will discuss some new research that points to a particular cloud feedback as the cause of the extreme anomalous melting of the Greenland ice sheet in 2011.
Science Cafe Norman is open to the public, free of charge. Friends of the Norman Public Library provides snacks, and Gray Owl Coffee provides coffee.
More information about Science Cafe can be obtained on the Facebook page or by direct inquiry to email@example.com.
