NORMAN — A railroad crossing was temporarily shut down after a two-car accident Sunday around 4:30 p.m.

Norman police Lt. Brent Barbour said one vehicle, a Kia Spectra, heading eastbound on Eufaula Street, was hit after another car, a Hyundai Elantra, failed to stop at stop sign while traveling northbound on Jones Avenue.

No injuries were reported and no one was transported to the hospital.

Barbour said the crossing was temporarily shut down until the vehicles were removed. Police also removed debris from the tracks left from the accident. The tracks were then inspected for damage.

“To my knowledge, there wasn’t any damage,” he said.
