Last day to vote early in election

NORMAN — Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday for the city of Norman Municipal, city of Lexington General and city of Newcastle General Elections.

Early voting continues from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. today at the Cleveland County Election Board, 641 E. Robinson St. in Norman.

Identification is required to vote. The most common forms of identification are voter registration cards, an Oklahoma driver’s license or other official government ID with a photo.

Cleveland County Election Board Secretary Jim Williams said voters may use their Voter Identification Card as proof of identity, even though it does not have a photo. Other Identification used to prove identity must be issued by the state of Oklahoma, The federal government or a federally recognized Indian tribe or nation.

State law requires voters to prove their identity before they are allowed to vote. Documents, other than a voter ID card, used for proof of identity must include voter name (which must match the voter’s name on the registration record), a photograph and an expiration date that is later than the election day.

Voters who need a Temporary Voter Identification Card may obtain one at the Cleveland County Election Board.

Voters who are unsure of where to vote may look up their polling place at www.clevelandcountyelectionboard.com by using the polling place locator.

Voters within the city of Norman who are unsure of their ward number can contact the Cleveland County Election Board at 366-0210.
