Firehouse Subs opens in Norman

NORMAN — Firehouse Subs is thrilled to announce the opening of its first location in Norman at 320 12th Ave. The new specialty sub shop is open seven days a week from 10:30 a.m. to 10 p.m.

The restaurant is famous for steaming its premium meats and cheeses piled high atop toasted sub rolls and served Fully Involved with fresh produce. The authentic firehouse setting is based on the founding family’s decades of fire and police service, and the new location is decorated with local firefighter memorabilia donated by the Norman Fire Department.

A unique feature to each Firehouse Subs restaurant is the custom, hand-painted mural inside the dining room. This restaurant’s mural depicts Norman Fire Department Station No. 9 surrounded by bandaged, Big 12 sports conference mascots.

Firehouse Subs, founded in Jacksonville, Fla., by former firefighting brothers Chris and Robin Sorensen, is a 603-unit fast casual restaurant chain, offering oversized portions of premium hand-sliced meats and cheeses, steamed to make the flavors burst, then piled high with fresh produce atop a toasted sub roll.

In 2005, Firehouse Subs created the Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation with the mission of providing funding, life-saving equipment, and educational opportunities to first-responders and public safety organizations. Through the non-profit 501(c)(3), Firehouse Subs has given $5.7 million to hometown heroes in 36 states and Puerto Rico, including more than $21,400 in Oklahoma.

Firehouse Subs is a fast casual restaurant chain with a passion for Hearty and Flavorful Food, Heartfelt Service and Public Safety.

The founders are the real deal, the food is their creation, and the company is built upon a family of franchise operators that share their same passion for serving others.

Firehouse Subs consistently ranks No. 1 among fast casual brands in the categories of food quality, taste and flavor, and friendly service; for the last two years Franchise Business Review has ranked it No. 1 in franchisee satisfaction, and in 2012, the brand earned first place honors in the sandwich category in the Nation’s Restaurant News Consumer Picks study.
