NORMAN — The Alameda Church of Christ and Mission Norman were awarded items to help them serve residents struggling with hunger.
The Regional Food Bank donated the items to the two nonprofits, which run food pantries within their facilities that are supported by the food bank.
The Regional Food Bank gave the Alameda Church of Christ a new commercial refrigerator, wire shelving and three new computers, according to a press release. Mission Norman received three computers and a color printer.
The new computers and copier will help Mission Norman operate more efficiently for clients by writing checks, making copies and helping with data input, Mission Norman’s director Gene Barnes said in the press release.
To qualify for these grants, Mission Norman and the Alameda Church of Christ had to complete an application and secure up to $5,000 in matching gift funds.
