OKLAHOMA CITY — The Oklahoma Statewide Independent Living Council (“SILC”) will host a public meeting from 1 to 2 p.m. April 26 at 3535 NW 58th St., Suite 480, in Oklahoma City.
At the meeting, the SILC is asking for comments on the proposed FY 2014-2016 State Plan for Independent Living (“SPIL”).
The proposed SPIL will be submitted for final approval to the United States Department of Education and Rehabilitation Services Administration in June.
The public is encouraged to attend the meeting to provide feedback.
Centers for Independent Living (CILs) provide a variety of services that help individuals with disabilities obtain personal independence and self-sufficiency.
The Oklahoma Statewide Independent Living Council advises and develops policies and plans for Independent Living through their State Plan.
The proposed plan will be available on the SILC website and Facebook page beginning Monday.
