NORMAN — Work on 48th Avenue SE

Starting Saturday at 7 a.m. through 7 p.m., the east side of 48th Avenue Southeast will be diverted onto the west side using flagmen and traffic control devices.

Pier Drillers, Inc. working for OGE, will replace a drilled foundation for the transmission line adjacent to the roadway.  Traffic control will protect the public.

Municipal workshops

The Oklahoma Municipal League will host two, half-day workshops on planning commissions and adjustment boards for planning commissioners, board of adjustment members, staff and city officials from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. May 9 at Rose State College in Midwest City

Development and planning experts from across the state will lead the seminars. A morning workshop on planning commissions will feature topics such as the role of a planning commission, municipal code enforcement challenges and planning trends to watch.

Planning commissioners and those who share the responsibly for planning, including the community, city council members, municipal attorneys, clerks, staff and accountants are encouraged to attend.

Attendees will be eligible to earn Continuing Legal Education and American Institute of Certified Planners Certification Maintenance training credits. The workshops also offer credit hours for the OML Certified Municipal Officials Program.
