Leroy Henry Kautz Jr.

NORMAN — Leroy Henry Kautz Jr., 59, died Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2012, in Hastings, Neb.

He was born in April 3, 1953, to Leroy and Mary Ann Kautz in Ransom, Kan.

He attended Norman schools from 1964 to 1974 and currently was going to school to become an accountant so retirement years would be easier work. He has lived in Hastings the last 10 years and was employed full time at Thermo King for the last eight years.

He loved his family, friends, fishing and telling jokes. He loved to pull pranks at work and make people laugh. He will be missed by everyone who knew him.

He was preceded in death by one sister, Janet Cox in August 2012.

He is survived by his mother, Mary Ann Fields of Norman; his father, Leroy Kautz Sr. and wife Viola of Paris, Texas; one son, Dony Kautz and wife Paula of Colorado; a daughter, Christina Murphy and husband Richard of Moore; five granddaughters; brothers, Jeff Fields of Norman, brother-in-law, John Cox of Norman, Jeff Kautz and wife Lynette of Stratford, Texas, Toby Kautz and wife Lisa of Paris, Texas; sisters, Millie Duffy and husband Robby of Rockwall, Texas, Pam Gaither and husband Jim of Noble; and a host of nieces and nephews.

The family has suggested donations to Food and Shelter for Friends or a favorite charity as appropriate for memorial contributions.
