NORMAN — Molly Levitte Griffis will donate copies of the 10th anniversary edition of her book, “The Great American Bunion Derby,” to runners at the Andy Payne Memorial Marathon on Sunday.
The marathon commemorates Andy Payne, who won the Great American Foot Race in 1928, after running from Los Angeles to New York in 84 days, and is the oldest marathon held in Oklahoma.
The book follows Payne during his participation in the race, and was the winner of the Gamma State Author’s Award for Children’s Book in 2005. The marathon will be at 6:30 a.m. at Lake Stanley Draper.
Online pre-registration can be found at andypaynemarathon.com. Runners can choose from a 5K, half marathon or full marathon.
