Physical days announced

NORMAN — Physical days for all middle school and high school athletes are scheduled, and are being held for 2013-14 school year athletic requirements.

All athletes are to obtain physical packets from their school offices — or they can download the packet from the Norman Public Schools’ website — and bring the completed documents from the packet with them to their school’s physical day.

The physical day for Norman High, Alcott Middle School and Irving Middle School athletes will be from 6-8 p.m. May 6. The physicals will be conducted in the Norman High gymnasium by Norman Sports Medicine, and athletes will be served on a first come, first serve basis. Cost is $15 (cash only) per athlete.

The physical day for Norman North, Longfellow Middle School and Whittier Middle School athletes will be from 6-8 p.m. May 9. Enter from the main entrance at Norman North, where athletes will be served by Oklahoma Sports & Orthopedics Institute on a first come, first serve basis. Cost also is $15 (cash only) per athlete.

NPS Athletic Director Frank Thompson stressed that physicals conducted prior to May 1, 2013, will not be considered valid for 2013-14 eligibility, according to rules of the Oklahoma Secondary Schools Activities Association.

For more information, call NPS Athletics, 366-5846.
