NORMAN — A free clinic that teaches emergency road safety responses for new teenage drivers will be hosted May 11-12 at Remington Park in Oklahoma City.
The Bridgestone Teens Drive Smart Driving Experience will give new drivers a chance to learn and experience how a vehicle will react in emergency situations in a safe environment.
The free, half-day workshop is designed as a hands-on training session to teach the skills needed to better handle accident avoidance situations, make good choices and eliminate distracted driving.
Each session combines classroom instruction with hands-on exercises to reinforce smart decision-making on the open road. The clinic demonstrates vehicle dynamics and best ways to respond in less-than-ideal driving.
The event will be in the facility’s C-3/D-3 parking lot. Enter from North Eastern Avenue/Martin Luther King.
Participants can choose May 11 or 12, with sessions at 8:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. daily.
Students ages 15-21 with valid permit or driver’s license should make a reservation at www.TeensDriveSmartTour.com.
