NORMAN — A Facebook post by Norman Convention and Visitors Bureau Director Stephen Koranda generated concern by some residents.
“Be aware when you come visit ... anyone arrested for soliciting a prostitute in Oklahoma must have their name & picture shown on television,” the post read.
The item was listed as an official post by the NCVB complete with logo and Norman, Oklahoma by visitnorman.com as the header. At least 19 people liked the comment and one replied with an LOL — laugh out loud — before it was removed.
Koranda was out of town for the holiday but responded to The Transcript’s inquiry via text.
“It was an ill-conceived attempt to make light of an OK law,” Koranda said. “I apologize. This has been addressed internally.”
