NORMAN — A Norman North High School student was transported to the hospital by EMSTAT on Friday afternoon after he ran into a car while crossing traffic on Timberwolves Trail, campus police said.

Norman Public Schools Chief of Campus Police Harold Stafford said the male student suffered a possible broken ankle after hitting a stopped car while crossing the street around 4:10 p.m. Friday.

The student was running south on the sidewalk in front of the school when he attempted to cross the street, Stafford said.

He successfully crossed the west bound lane of traffic before hitting an unnoticed stopped car in the east bound lane.

He then fell and suffered the injury, officials said.
