NORMAN — A woman has been formally charged in connection with a Norman convenience store robbery.

Anna Marie Denezio, 38, was charged with robbery with a firearm, possessing a firearm during commission of a felony, eluding or attempting to elude a police officer and driving with a canceled, suspended or revoked license.

Early Tuesday morning, a woman brandishing a .380-caliber pistol held up a clerk in the 7-Eleven at 2556 Classen Blvd., according to a affidavit filed with the charges.

The affidavit further states that the woman got away with $39 in cash.

No one was injured during the holdup.

While responding to the emergency call at the store, Norman police attempted to pull over a white car. A brief vehicle pursuit ensued, during which “the driver began to wave out the window,” in an attempt to motion the police vehicle to go around the white car, according to the affidavit.

Denezio was arrested at the 700 block of Stinson Street, according to a news release from the police department.

The store clerk identified Denezio from a photograph taken by the police, according to police reports.

Capt. Tom Easley said the quick arrest made by police officers was a combination of attentive officers and good luck.
