NORMAN — For The The Healthy Noble Partnership recently sponsored a BEAR Event, an acronym for Be Excited About Recreation, to educate the public about healthy choices and to show that these choices can be easy to make.
Healthy activities, resources and screenings were available at the event where over 400 Noble residents participated. The Healthy Noble Partnership is a partnership of organizations and businesses that have come together with the shared goal of shaping the Noble community, citizens and guests by empowering them to make healthier choices about eating and lifestyle.
Healthy activities at the event sponsored by First State Bank included making bird feeders with Home Depot, hula hooping, dancing with 2 Legit, healthy refreshments from New Leaf Nutrition, rock climbing with the Oklahoma National Guard and activity equipment from United Way of Norman.
The Noble Public Library sponsored reading information and health screenings were available from Loving Care. Spinal screenings were provided by Gilson Chiropractic and bike safety with Noble Police Department’s bicycle officer, Officer Teal. The Noble High School agriculture department was involved in seed planting. A dog show, face painting and karaoke with the Noble High School Choir were also available at the event.
The Noble High Cheerleaders got people moving in a moon bounce. A movie and dinner were provided by Tobacco Free Cleveland County and the Healthy Noble Partnership.
Sara King and Leon Tenney were the winners of the bicycle giveaways.
