NORMAN — The Cleveland County Democratic Party will host its election night watch party, “4 More for 44,” on Nov. 6 at Step Brothers Restaurant, according to a news release from the organization.

“Nothing makes all our hard work seem worth our investment more than a community celebration,” Suzette McDowell, chairwoman of the Cleveland County Democratic Party, said in the release. “We’re confident that we will be celebrating President Obama’s victory, and we want to share that celebration with the volunteers, donors and all-around supporters who have worked with us to get the word and the vote out in Oklahoma this election cycle.”

The watch party will begin at 6:30 p.m. and continue until the election outcome is clear. All local candidates are expected to make an appearance.

“The excitement is building,” McDowell said. “This election is more important than the outcome of any football game, but this is our version of a tailgate party. We hope Obama supporters will wear their T-shirts, buttons and other symbols of hope and pride as they join us for what will be many hours of interaction with people of like mind.”

Step Brothers in Norman will provide the party buffet of light snacks, with coffee, tea and water available at no cost. A cash bar also will be available.

Step Brothers is at 423 S. Webster. Admission is free and the event is open to the public.

The CCDP headquarters are at 402 W. Main St. in Norman. The office is open from 10 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Monday throughThursday and 9:30 a.m. to noon on Saturday.
