NORMAN — Norman Superintendent Dr. Joe Siano has been selected to chair the United Way of Norman’s Board of Directors for the coming year.
A longtime volunteer and United Way Board member, Siano said he was grateful for the board’s faith and trust in him and looked forward to serving the organization in the coming year.
“The work of this organization and its partner agencies benefit the same families who have children or grandchildren in the Norman Public Schools,” Siano said. “The mission of the United Way is the same mission of the school district, and that is to serve families, provide them opportunity and help ensure our community remains strong and vibrant.”
Kristin Collins, executive director of the United Way of Norman, said she has valued and admired the many contributions that Siano has made to the organization during the past 14 years and was excited by the knowledge and passion he was bringing to the role of chair.
“Dr. Siano has provided years of thoughtful leadership at United Way of Norman as he has served in a variety of important roles: campaign chair, personnel chair and now board chair,” she said. “He has been a very active member of the United Way board of directors, and I am excited to have the opportunity to work with him in this new role.”
