NORMAN — Norman Public Schools is showing an increase of 330 students this year compared to similar counts in 2012, school officials said Tuesday.
As of Monday, the district counted an enrollment of 15,1459 compared to 15,129 on Oct. 1.
Spokesman Shelly Hickman said the official enrollment is not taken until Oct. 1.
Historically, she said, the number of students will continue to increase.
“We won’t be surprised if our enrollment increases even higher between now and Oct. 1,” Hickman said.
District officials said Norman enrollment has grown in a range of 150 to 450 students each year over the past few years.
They do not believe the Moore tornado has led to enrollment growth in the Norman district.
