Sam Noble to host workshop

NORMAN — Brownie and Junior Girl Scouts can achieve badge requirements during the Sam Noble Museum’s “It’s Your Planet” workshop series Sept. 28.

During the museum’s senses workshop, scheduled from 9 a.m. to noon, Brownie Scouts can use their senses to investigate the natural world. The workshop completes all requirements for the senses badge.

Junior Girl Scouts will investigate a museum mystery using natural science techniques and detective work in the museum’s detective workshop, scheduled from 1 to 4:30 p.m. The workshop completes all requirements for the detective badge.

The cost is $10 per Scout and includes the workshop and general museum admission for the Scout and one adult. Badges are not included. Space is limited and pre-registration is required. To enroll, call 325-1008.

The workshops will occur during the display of “The Art of Sport + Play,” an exhibit of Kevin Carroll’s personal collection of handcrafted and other balls from around the world, and “Masterworks of Native American Art: Selections from the Fred and Enid Brown Collection,” a selection of Native American paintings and drawings created over the past 50 years.

The Sam Noble Oklahoma Museum of Natural History is on the University of Oklahoma Norman campus at Timberdell Road and Chautauqua Avenue.

Accommodations on the basis of disability are available by calling 325-4712 or visiting snomnh.ou.edu.
