Mother turns in teenage son after Oklahoma City girl’s death

Teen charged with murder

NORMAN — The mother of a 16-year-old Del City youth turned her son in for allegedly shooting and killing another teenager in Moore this past weekend, according to court filings Thursday.

Brajuan Troytnell Napoleon was formally charged with first-degree murder Thursday in Cleveland County District Court. He was arrested in connection with the death of Alex Matlock, 17, of Oklahoma City.

Matlock was shot in the chest and died at OU Medical Center.

According to an affidavit filed with the charge, Napoleon was identified as the shooter by witnesses at the scene on Kelly Drive. Investigators received a call from the defendant’s mother advising her son was sleeping at her home in Del City.

The mother said she believed her son was involved in the shooting, based on information provided by the son’s girlfriend.

Napoleon was booked into the Cleveland County Detention Center.
