NORMAN — This year, students and fans will be “Drawn Together by Tradition” during homecoming weekend as the Sooners face the Texas Tech Red Raiders on Saturday.
To pump up everyone’s spirits, a school pep rally will be hosted at 7:30 p.m today at McCasland Field House. Doors will open at 7 p.m.
Continuing with Sooner tradition, a parade will precede the OU football game. This year’s parade grand marshal is Gary England.
“Gary England is known across America as one of the most outstanding meteorologists in our nation,” OU President David L. Boren said. “We are proud that he is a Sooner.”
The parade lineup is at 10:30 a.m.; the parade will begin at 11:30 am.
Homecoming king and queen nominees are: queen — Melanie Duran, Ranya Forgotson, Merrilea Place, Alexis Taitel and Brette Throckmorton; king — Nick Aguilera, Ben Laptad, Patrick McSweeney, David Vreeland and Ray Wolber.
Kickoff will be 2:30 pm. Saturday. Royalty winners will be announced during halftime.
