People in business The Norman Transcript Mary Ann Nelson, Norman, was recently elected president of the Oklahoma Land Title Association 2008-2009 Board of Directors.
Nelson has been involved with the OLTA serving on numerous committees for over a decade. She is executive vice president and manager of Cleveland County Abstract where she has worked for the past 27 years. Two Norman residents were among the 2008 Leadership in Law honorees of the Oklahoma County Bar Association. Gayle L. Barrett and Karen S. Rieger, both shareholders and directors at Crowe -- Dunlevy, were honored May 1 during the county bar's Law Day luncheon. Veronica Malen-Cole was recently promoted to senior vice president, loan operations at Coppermark Bank. She will be responsible for overseeing the management of loan accounting, central loan documentation and credit administration. Malen-Cole has a total of 24 years experience and has been with Coppermark Bank for 10 years. She is a graduate of the Graduate School of Banking at Colorado and teaches banking and finance for the Urban League and Department of Juvenile Affairs -- survival skills for young women and young men. A Norman man is among the 52 Leadership Oklahoma Class XXI graduates announced. Founded in 1986, Leadership Oklahoma is a nonprofit organization from which 1,070 people have graduated over the years. Russ Harrison Jr., Norman, was selected from a wide geographic-base representing diverse backgrounds to complete the nine-month program. Oklahoma City University Entertainment Business Director Rachel Jacquemain has earned the certified Meeting Professional designation, a credential recognized throughout the meetings, conventions and exhibitions industry that demonstrates expertise in meeting management. Jacquemain was among 393 professionals worldwide who passed the certification exam in February. -- Transcript Staff
