Farm conference May 21-23

Langston University will host its 17 Annual Farmers Conference May 21-23 in the Auditorium at Langston University’s Oklahoma City Campus.

The campus is at 4205 N. Lincoln Blvd., approximately two miles north of the State Capitol.

The theme of the conference is “Sustaining Small Farms and Ranches.” Topics will include legal issues in agriculture, alternative enterprises, livestock management, forage management, marketing, USDA programs and services and gardening. Also, information on working with Heifer International will be provided.

Long-time Norman resident Martha Wooldridge has started an online gallery, www.BeautifulBowls.com. The profitable and creative venture that benefits artists, collectors, businesses and art enthusiasts.

BeautifulBowls.com offers artist-made bowls in a variety of media including art glass, ceramic pottery, turned wood, metalwork and gourd work.

“We do our best to help bridge the lack of direct contact between the artist and the consumer,” Wooldridge said.
