NEW: Four file so far for council race; filing open through Wednesday

— Four people have filed as candidates for the Norman City Council, officials with the Cleveland County Election Board said.
The filing period opened Monday at 8 a.m. and will continue until 5 p.m. Wednesday.
As of 11:45 Monday, Alan Atkins, 56, has filed for the council's Ward 1 seat while Hal Ezzell, 39, filed for re-election in Ward 3.
Incumbent council member Rachel Butler, 58, filed for re-election in Ward 5 while Doug Cubberly, 56, filed for re-election in Ward 7.
A primary election for the council is scheduled for March 3. The general election will be held May 12.
