Norman High students will crown a Mr. Norman High 2008 tonight in the NHS theater, 911 W. Main St. The event starts 7 p.m., and the public is invited to attend. Nineteen contestants will be vying for the coveted title.

Competing in tonight's Mr. Norman High contest are Thomas Vennochi and Brady Bowers, Zeke Zachary, Andrew St. John, Sam Boeck, and Clay Pattison, Matt Knudson, Quentin Dixon, Jack Jewel, Riley Saunders, Ewane Masango, Brandon Dabney, Tanner Howe, Trey Gaylord, Gordon Foor, Ryan Saunders, Joe Lawson, Damien Okewole, Samson Adeoye, Greg Perkins and Demerye Paulin.

The contest will consist of a fashion show, a swimsuit competition, talent performances, and a question-and-answer segment. Area clothiers have offered to let the contestants model their clothing for the fashion show and swimsuit competition. Each participant will receive gift certificates to Sonic and Boomerang car wash.

The winner also will receive two after-prom party tickets, a $150 gift certificate to Automotive Innovations and $100 cash.

Immediately preceding the Mr. Norman High contest will be a barbecue dinner served in the south gym compliments of The Rib Crib and Van's Pig Stand. Each plate will cost $5. The dinner will be served from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Admission into the contest is $5.

The proceeds from tonight's events will go toward the Norman High After-Prom Party to be held April 27 at Andy Alligator's Fun Park. The after-prom party offers party-goers a safe place to come, have a blast and celebrate the night away.
