A 58-year-old Grove man was arrested Wednesday for allegedly transporting 15 pounds of marijuana on Interstate 35 after Lux -- a certified drug dog with the Norman Police Department -- alerted to the man's vehicle. Gary Bob Harris was charged Thursday in Cleveland County District Court with unlawful possession of a controlled dangerous substance with intent to distribute and failure to display a tax stamp on a controlled dangerous substance. According to court records, Norman Detective Darin Morgan reportedly spotted Harris driving northbound on I-35 and estimated he was driving "63 to 65 in the posted 60 mile per hour" zone. Morgan said he placed Harris in his vehicle while issuing a warning and "noticed the odor of marijuana coming from his person." Morgan said he ran Lux, his certified K-9, around the vehicle and Lux "alerted on both doors." A probable cause search revealed 15 pounds of marijuana in a duffle bag in the trunk, Morgan said. A small bag of marijuana and two Xanax were found in the defendant's pocket, he said. Other felonies filed Thursday include: Gerardo Marquez-Arambula, 22, Norman, driving without a state's driver's license; Patrick Allen Robinson, 21, Norman, unlawful possession of a controlled drug within 1,000 feet of a school; Garfield Mordecai Bowen Jr., 21, Oklahoma City, unlawful possession of a controlled drug within 1,000 feet of a school; Gary Don Henderson, 54, Norman, assault with a dangerous weapon; malicious injury to property.
